GFD Gesellschaft für Diamantprodukte mbH was founded in 1999 as a spin-off of the University of Ulm and the Daimler Research Centre Ulm. The company has since then established and moved its headquarters to Neu-Ulm in 2018. Currently GFD has 18 employees and is also an apprenticing company. The company is managed by Dr.-Ing. Peter Gluche who decisively initiated its foundation.
We are leading in the production of diamond micro-components and in the manufacture of diamond-coated and plasma-sharpened cutting blades, plotter blades and tools. Furthermore, we produce diamond-coated high-precision balls for measurement technology and metrology and scalpel blades for eye surgery. A number of patents protect our developments and products.
We are the leading company in microstructuring of diamond. GFD produces and machines diamond films for a large variety of products. In contrast to conventional machining processes, GFD has adapted semiconductor technologies to achive the unique precision and quality of its products.
Our cutting blades called „Diamaze PSD (Plasma Sharpened Diamond)“ combine the unsurpassed hardness of diamond with the advantage of an extremely sharp cutting edge combined with the highest possible life time.
Our subsidiary company Diamaze Microtechnology SA based in Switzerland offers micro componants made of pure diamond or with diamond coating. These ultra-precise and high quality micro componants are mainly used in luxury watches.
