About ICE Europe

ICE Europe is the world’s leading exhibition for the converting industry. It offers its audience a comprehensive overview of the prevailing technological innovations and the latest manufacturing trends for the converting of flexible, web-based materials, such as paper, film, foil and nonwovens.

Within the past two decades the converting industry has strongly developed into a high-tech industry sector, driven by innovation and excellence. ICE Europe has continuously reflected the technical evolvement of the converting sector and has long become the industry’s economic barometer.

The 10th International Converting Exhibition, ICE Europe 2017, closed its doors after three successful show days from 21 – 23 March 2017, full of international business activities, networking and live demonstrations of the latest converting solutions. Once again, ICE Europe was a magnet for converting specialists from all over the world. A total of 6,850 visitors from 68 countries attended the show. With 429 exhibitors from 28 countries, covering a net exhibition space of 11,000 m², the jubilee event remained unchanged with respect to size compared to the previous ICE Europe.

With its high degree in international attendance, the 10th edition of the leading international exhibition for paper, film and foil converting reflected the importance of global business contacts for the converting industry: 45 % of exhibitors and 49 % of visitors were from outside Germany; the biggest exhibitor countries after Germany were Italy, Great Britain, Switzerland, the USA, France and the Netherlands. Top ten visitor countries were Germany, Italy, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, Great Britain, France, Spain, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands.

For the first time prizes for best practice and technological excellence have been awarded in an official awards ceremony to four exhibiting companies. The winners had been chosen through an online vote of the converting community. A total of 39 entries from participating companies were shortlisted and some 1,300 converting specialists took part in the online voting and selected the winners in the four award categories Converting Solutions for New Materials, Industry 4.0, Green Technology and Innovative Partnerships.

The specialised show for the converting industry takes place every two years. The next event will be held from 12 – 14 March 2019 at the Munich Trade Fair Centre in Germany.
